CORONA, Calif. (March 26, 2020) – As the country grapples with COVID-19 and daily life remains altered, truck drivers are among those on the front lines essentially keeping products moving to stores, hospitals and elsewhere. For that noble feat, we at Lucas Oil would like to extend a wholehearted thank you to all truck drivers and dispatchers throughout the country.
The recent and rapid spread of COVID-19 in the United States has set temporary shutdowns on various businesses and raised concerns over stores’ abilities to keep shelves stocked with necessary items. As a result, the need for freight has increased by nearly 60 percent. This means all teams of drivers and dispatchers in the United States are the driving force keeping us at home and the economy afloat.
“During these difficult times, it is pivotal we work together to help keep our communities safe and the stores stocked with essential items. The drastic increase in consumer bulk buying has skyrocketed the need for truck drivers and allowed our drivers to step in and assist with deliveries,” said Matt Conrad, General Manager, Lucas Oil. “This is certainly a team effort through and through. We estimate the number of essential item deliveries to soon jump up to 40 loads a week. In the last week and a half, our dedicated team of drivers and dispatchers have successfully delivered over 20 truckloads of essential items to various distribution warehouses across the United States.”
